Much like the play, the story of the Sid has unfolded over time, with equal parts suspense, drama, comedy, and plot twists. Only a few years ago, the theatre sat dark and derelict, its future uncertain. In a bold move, the City of Courtenay committed to renovating and restoring instead of demolition. After nearly $3 million worth of structural, exterior, and interior improvements, it stands proudly as a symbol of the revitalization of downtown Courtenay, and makes a significant contribution to the cultural and economic life of the Comox Valley.
